Making God’s Truth My Truth

As I self-publish my twenty-fourth book, I am amazed at all the positive responses to my endeavors. I loved digging into God’s Word, the Bible, searching for scripture verses for my “God, I Am….” series or the “Who Is God?” book. I am reminded of the greatness of God and how unfathomable His love and care. As the world arounds us gets crazier and crazier, I am passionate about pointing people back to the Bible for the answers to life. Too long we have gotten our “truth” from sources other that from God Himself and the consequence is the chaos we see around us. Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” In His prayer for his disciples in John 17:17, Jesus prayed that His Father would “Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth.” Truth is found in the Bible and we need to get back to basing our decisions and our lives on what God has revealed in His Word. What we think or feel about something should not rule our lives. We need to be asking, “What does God think, feel, and say about this situation?” “What does God say in the Bible I should believe, think, feel or act about this situation?” Our attitude and actions must be the same as John the Baptist in John 3:30, “He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease.”
